Upon release in 2014, the album was the winner of the Mercury Music Prize and was celebrated as one of the albums of the year throughout the music press. The album took the genre defying Scotting trio from underground heroes to being well on their way to one of the countries most cherished collectives. In the ten years that have passed since DEAD, Young Fathers have released three more acclaimed albums, including Heavy Heavy in 2023 which was also nominated for the Mercury and saw them play many huge shows including a triumphant Glastonbury set on the West Holts as well as join Depeche Mode as ‘Special Guests’ on a worldwide stadium tour.
