Various Artists - The Daisy Age (2LP)

Collecting prime cuts from hip hop's Daisy Age, a plethora of acts who were an antidote to the gangsta rap of the era.

Headed by Native Tongues, a loose collective of similarly-minded hip hop artists who frequently guested on each others records, and who utilised positive-minded, Afrocentric lyrics and jazz samples.

The prime exponents of the Native Tongues posse were De La Soul, a Tribe Called Quest and the Jungle Brothers, but also included rappers such as Queen Latifah, Black Sheep and the U.K.'s own Monie Love.
